Arcane Gun is a Sci-Fi Fantasy Arena shooter that is playable on itch.io. In the game, the player plays as a Battle Mage training in The Simulation. The player can utilize a combination of magic and gunplay to defeat aggressive AI in an attempt to get the highest score. 

This game was created by myself and two friends in just 8 weeks using Unreal Engine 5. The game was entered into the Tulsa Computer Simulation and Gaming conference in 2023 and won second place for Digital Games in the Post Secondary category.

The work I did on the game included:

  • Designed and implemented the weapon and magic system.

  • Created the UI.

  • Helped create the level layout.

  • Modeled and textured the main assets, including the player, weapons, and the flying enemy.

Project CarnEvil is a Horror Carnival VR game that is playable on itch.io and Steam. In this game, the player is trapped in a haunted carnival with a dark past. In order to escape, the player must beat several minigames and conquer the monster that lurks deep inside the carnival.

This game was my Game Development Capstone project. The team had six members who developed the game from scratch in two semesters inside of Unreal Engine 4. The game was entered into the Tulsa Computer Simulation and Gaming conference in 2023 and won first place for Digital Games (VR) in the Post Secondary category.

The work I did on the game included:

  • Lead Designer of the team.

  • Helped document the development of the game.

  • Communicated with the Art Director and Software Developers to ensure the art and mechanics of the game meshed together.

  • Helped optimize performance by setting guidelines for polygon count.

  • Helped blueprint mini-games.

  • Helped model and texture game assets.

River Invasion

River Invasion is a solo game I made. Inside the game, the player must make it down a river that is being invaded by aliens. The player must manage their fuel while gaining points for destroying aliens and fuel pads.

 

This is a remake of the Activision 1982 Atari game, River Raid. The game was developed in 2 months inside of Unity. I am currently in the process if recreating this project in Unreal Engine as a mobile game.

The work I did on the game included:

  • Designed a way to use Unity prefabs to create level chunks. These chunks were to be used to make an infinite gameplay loop.

  • Implemented a system to delete the level behind the player to keep the player from creating too large of a level and impacting performance.

  • Designed and created the pixel art.

  • Used player prefs to save player high score.
