Arcane Gun

2nd Place - Digital Games: Post Secondary
Arcane Gun is the prototype for a Fantasy, Sci-fi FPS game that was developed over the course of 8-weeks. In the game, the player plays as a Battle Mage training in The Simulation. The player can utilize a combination of magic and gunplay to defeat aggressive AI in an attempt to get the highest score.
For this game, I designed the concept and aesthetic, modeled the assets using Blender, and textured them in Substance Painter.
I also designed and developed a Weapon System. In this system, I created a Parent Weapon class that would contain most of the code a gun would need. This allowed me to easily create child classes as the actual weapons the player would use with a minimum override to make the weapons unique to one another.

Project CarnEvil

1st Place - Digital Games (VR): Post Secondary
Project CarnEvil is the Capstone Project for my Game Development major. In the game, players are trapped inside a haunted carnival. The player must play 4 carnival games to make it to the boss in an attempt to escape CarnEvil. Will you be the one to escape or will you become one of the lost souls?
In this project, I acted as Lead Designer. One of my main contributions was helping with both the art and engineering and making sure that these two parts of the project didn't clash. To do this I worked closely with my engineers and art director to help mediate between the two.

Be The Bullet
This is a small shooting range game I made in Unity. I modeled the gun, designed the game and concept, and made the pixel art enemies.
Lessons Learned:
-
How to user player prefs to save simple customization options.
-
How to make an arcade game fun so that players want to keep returning for more games.
-
How to light my scene to give it a Science Fiction Military aesthetic.
River Invasion
For this game, I recreated the Atari game River Raid inside of Unity. All assets were created by me.
Lessons Learned:
-
How to use prefabs to create small chunks of levels that could be randomly spawned to create an infinite game loop.
-
How to use player prefs to save high scores.
